## Cloud Engineer - Architect ### Responsibilities - Design and engineer **secure, scalable, resilient cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructure** supporting the VA mission portfolio. - Lead **implementation, migration, and optimization** of cloud workloads (VMs, containers, PaaS, data services). - Author **reference architectures** and **Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)** modules; enforce **security and cost baselines**. - Partner with cybersecurity liaisons to steward continuous **ATO** for cloud services (**FedRAMP / VA CRISP alignment**). ### Qualifications - Must currently possess or be able to obtain **VA Public Trust - High Risk (BI High) / Tier 4** background investigation. - **Bachelor’s degree** (preferably Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related) and **8+ years** of cloud engineering/architecture experience. - Master’s degree substitutes ~2 years; Ph.D. substitutes ~5 years. - In lieu of a Bachelor’s: **4 additional years** of relevant experience acceptable (Associate’s + 2 additional years also accepted). - Deep hands-on experience with **Microsoft Azure** (and/or **AWS**) production workloads. ### Desired Skills / Tools / Certifications **Tools:** Microsoft Azure (VMs, App Service, Data Factory, Sentinel), AWS (where applicable), Terraform / ARM / Bicep, Ansible, GitHub/GitLab CI, Python, PowerShell, ServiceNow. **Processes/Frameworks:** ITIL v4, SAFe Agile/Scrum, NIST 800-53 / RMF, ISO 27001, TIA-942, ASHRAE TC 9.9, VA CRISP alignment, NFPA 70/70E, OSHA practices; **FedRAMP / VA CRISP**. **Certifications (desirable):** Azure Administrator / Solutions Architect / Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, Terraform Associate, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, CISSP/CCSP (security track), ITIL v4, SAFe Practitioner or SAFe DevOps. ### Work Location - **Austin, TX** ### Target Salary Range - **$112,000 - $179,000** (typical range; final offer depends on experience, education, skills, and location).
