Most US-based positions can also be performed remotely (exceptions will be noted in the Minimum Qualifications). **Our Mission** - To actively connect people to their next great opportunity. **Who We Are** - ZipRecruiter is the fastest-growing online employment marketplace for both desktop and mobile traffic. - Powered by AI-driven smart matching technology, we connect millions of job seekers and businesses through innovative mobile, web, and email services and partnerships with top job boards. **About the Team** - Looking for software engineering interns passionate about building an intuitive experience for a marketplace serving millions of job seekers and tens of thousands of customers. - As a summer intern, you’ll join our **12–16 week program** in our **Santa Monica office** and work on sprint work plus a project focused on developing high-quality, high-performance code. - You’ll consider trade-offs, iterate on solutions, and expand scope and scalability—supporting job seekers, employers, and internal developers. - You’ll also have the opportunity to specialize in one of the following disciplines: **Big Data**, **Full Stack**, or **Machine Learning**. **About the Job** - Participate in the full lifecycle of user-facing applications at scale: design → implementation → testing → production. - Develop a strong understanding of the business, industry, codebase, and/or systems. - Write, test, instrument, and deploy high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks in our **Kubernetes** environment. - Help drive the innovation and evolution of ZipRecruiter. **Minimum Qualifications** - Currently enrolled in a full-time, Computer Science degree-seeking program (or related technical field) with an expected graduation date **between December 2027 and November 2028**. - Demonstrated foundation in software engineering through previous internship experience or equivalent practical experience. - Fluency with at least **1** general-purpose programming language (e.g., **Python** or **Java**). - Ability to work **in-person** in our **Santa Monica office** for the summer. - Interest in becoming more specialized in **Big Data**, **Full Stack**, or **Machine Learning**. **Preferred Qualifications** - Fluency in multiple programming languages or ability to pick up new languages quickly. - Experience working with both non-relational and relational database systems. - Exposure to client-side development (e.g., **React**, plus JavaScript, CSS, HTML). - Analytical and problem-solving skills with a self-starter mentality. - Passion for and experience creating intuitive, user-friendly experiences. **As part of our team, you’ll enjoy** - Competitive salary - Exceptional benefits and perks **Compensation (US base pay range)** - **$45.00/hr – $50.00/hr** **Equal Opportunity** - ZipRecruiter is an equal opportunity employer and provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetics. **Privacy Notice** - https://www.ziprecruiter.com/careers/job-applicant-privacy-notice
