At Pinterest, AI is a powerful partner that augments creativity and amplifies impact. **The Team** Pinterest’s **Ads Delivery Infrastructure** team builds and operates the real-time systems that power **Shopping and Ads**—including serving, indexing, retrieval, and budgeting. You’ll join a major modernization effort: unifying catalog/index platforms to scale to billions of items, moving core services to next-generation compute, and re-architecting budgeting for real-time accuracy. --- ## What You’ll Do - Lead or support programs that scale Pinterest’s **Shopping and Ads** catalog, indexing, and retrieval systems to handle **billions of items**, partnering with engineering leads across catalog, search infrastructure, and retrieval. - Drive cross-team execution on infrastructure modernization initiatives, including migrations to next-generation compute/storage platforms—managing timeline, dependencies, and risk across service owners. - Build and maintain program dashboards and reporting to provide engineering and business stakeholders with a clear, current view of progress, risk, and decisions. - Partner with engineering on **reliability** and **incident response** for revenue-critical serving systems. - Communicate technical tradeoffs and program status clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, from engineers to senior leadership. - Use **GenAI as the default operating model** for EP PgM execution—producing AI-assisted first drafts of program artifacts and modernizing high-toil workflows (e.g., intake triage, status synthesis, action/decision extraction, risk & dependency tracking). - Prototype solutions to augment decisions with data (dashboards, analysis) or simplify processes (workflow helpers, internal tools) using AI coding assistants (“vibe coding”). - Follow Pinterest AI guidance for **risk, governance, and safety-by-design**: handle sensitive data appropriately, validate AI outputs, document assumptions/limits, and ensure AI-assisted workflows meet policy/compliance expectations before broad adoption. --- ## What We’re Looking For - **5+ years** of TPM/Product Ownership experience leading complex, cross-functional technical programs—ideally in large-scale distributed systems, search/retrieval, or ads/monetization infrastructure. - Solid understanding of the principles behind large-scale **serving, indexing, and retrieval** systems and the tradeoffs involved in scaling. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience building dashboards, interpreting data, and driving decisions. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a track record partnering with senior engineering and business stakeholders in high-visibility settings. - Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities across a fast-moving, multi-workstream roadmap. - Ads/monetization/data infrastructure experience is a plus; willingness to learn across domains is essential. - Workflow design + **AI fluency**: experience turning repeatable program work into durable, low-toil mechanisms and improving decision-making with GenAI (e.g., strong prompting, vibe coding lightweight scripts/tools, dashboards, data analysis, and agents where appropriate). - **Safety-by-design AI fluency**: experience operating within AI governance expectations (risk assessment, data handling, output validation,
