As the world’s first sleep fitness company, we build advanced hardware, software, and AI technology that turns every night of sleep into a personalized, data-driven recovery experience—trusted by high performers, professional athletes, and health-conscious consumers in 30+ countries. **The Role** You’ll work closely with backend, firmware, and data engineers, as well as R&D and clinical teams, reporting directly to the Head of Security. This is a **generalist security engineering role** with **real ownership from day one**, covering areas such as: - Corporate IT - Identity - AI Security - Enterprise security - Cloud security You’ve previously been “the security person” on a small team—someone who handles what comes up, automates repeat issues, and writes clearly so engineers, auditors, and executives can act on your work. **How You’ll Contribute** - **Google Workspace administration**, device management, and SaaS access lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding, access reviews that stand up in audits) - Keep compliance green by remediating failing tests at the infrastructure level, extending **Vanta** with custom tests, and automating evidence collection - Partner with internal teams to deliver secure solutions aligned to company goals - **Vulnerability management** and **endpoint management** for the corporate fleet - Build processes for **secure and ethical AI** in corporate environments to minimize shadow AI/IT - Act as the security team’s “second brain”: triage inbound requests, run security reviews of internal tools, and lead incidents - Tackle new security engineering projects **What You Need to Succeed** - **AI-first mindset** - **4+ years** across security and/or IT engineering, including experience owning whatever comes up on a small team - Experience operating a **SIEM** (Datadog Cloud SIEM, Panther, Splunk, Elastic, or similar) - Corporate IT fluency: **Google Workspace admin**, **MDM**, identity lifecycle - **Scripting ability** (Python or similar) - Clear security writing and documentation (triage notes, runbooks, audit evidence) **Bonus Points** - **Vanta (or Drata)** ownership through a real audit cycle for **SOC 2, ISO 27001, or HIPAA** - Experience in a regulated or health-adjacent environment - Incident response experience beyond tabletop exercises **Why Join Eight Sleep?** - Innovation as a standard, not a slogan - Immediate responsibility and accelerated growth (small team, high ownership) - Collaboration with exceptional talent - Equitable compensation and continuous equity investment - Benefits include health/vision/dental, supplemental life insurance, flexible PTO, commuter benefits, and paid parental leave (benefits vary by location) *Equal Opportunity Employer.*
