**Astranis — Flight Software Associate (Summer 2027)** Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, providing dedicated, secure satellite communications for highly-sophisticated customers worldwide (large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military). With five satellites on orbit and more launching soon, Astranis is servicing a backlog of $1B+ in commercial contracts. **About the role** - Associate positions typically last **12 weeks** and are **salaried** roles for **new grads** who have graduated from a **four-year university**. - You’ll work on hard problems and meaningful projects across embedded satellite software and ground control/testing software. - Many past interns have designed and tested hardware/software that is heading to space and have gone on to full-time roles. - If you have **not** yet graduated from a four-year university, please apply to the **internship program**. **Role** - Work with the engineering team to **design, write, and test software** (embedded software running on satellites, plus ground control and testing software). **Requirements** - Hold a **four-year degree** in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, **or** be currently enrolled in an **M.S.** program in a similar discipline. - Experience with **C/C++** and one or more **scripting languages**. - Demonstrated ability to **design, write, and test software from scratch**. - Don’t meet every requirement? **Apply anyway.** **Bonus** - Experience with **embedded systems running on bare metal** - Experience with **real-time operating systems** - Experience with **FPGA or DSP programming** **Compensation (Base Salary)** - **$1,925 per week** **Eligibility / Compliance** - **U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required** (to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations). **Equal Opportunity** - Astranis is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and encourages people of all backgrounds to apply.
