## Software Engineer 1 - Data Platforms ### About the Role Enterprises trust Abnormal AI's cloud products to stop cybercrime. The **Data Platform** team designs and operates scalable storage systems (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Redis, RocksDB, DynamoDB), batch and stream data processing (Kafka, Spark), orchestration (Airflow, DBT), and more. We build core infrastructure powering data-heavy workloads, providing scalable and reliable data platforms to engineering and data science teams. We're looking for a **Software Engineer I** eager to learn and take on meaningful technical challenges. ### What You Will Do - Contribute to design, development, and operation of core data platform components - Build tools and services for easy adoption and scaling of data systems - Automate infrastructure and operations to improve reliability and performance - Apply GenAI techniques to build smarter developer experiences - Collaborate across teams to solve scalability challenges - Own projects end-to-end with guidance from senior engineers ### What You Bring - 1+ years professional software engineering experience (backend, distributed systems, or infrastructure preferred) - Solid programming skills in Python, Go, or similar language - Strong fundamentals: data structures, clean code, testing, debugging - Interest in learning AWS, Databricks, and our tech stack - Curiosity, problem-solving skills, and strong communication - Ability to work independently and collaboratively ### Nice to Have - Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) - Exposure to large-scale or data-intensive systems ### Why You'll Love It Here - High-impact team solving problems that matter - Learn from experienced engineers in a collaborative environment - Real opportunities for ownership and early career growth - Shape the future of our data platform at a fast-growing, AI-first company **Base Salary Range:** $122,400 – $176,000 USD *Compensation determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
