Its open platform integrates with nearly 650 software, data, and consulting partners to power end-to-end investment operations across firms of all sizes and complexity. **The Role** The Advisor Experience team is a new engineering team within Addepar’s Core Product Engineering organization. The team builds the products and experiences that define how financial advisors and their clients interact on the Addepar platform. Initially, this role focuses on the **Secure Message Center**—a compliant messaging experience built into Addepar’s client portal—but the scope extends well beyond messaging. As the **Engineering Manager**, you’ll lead a small, growing group of engineers and shape both the technical direction and team culture from the early stages. You’ll partner closely with product management and design to translate an ambitious product vision into shipped software. **What You’ll Do** - Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack engineers, building a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement. - Partner with product management and design to define roadmaps, prioritize work, and deliver initiatives that shape the advisor-client experience. - Own the team’s technical direction—guide architecture decisions, conduct design reviews, and provide meaningful feedback in code reviews. - Drive execution using well-defined goal-setting frameworks, balancing ambitious delivery targets with sustainable engineering practices. - Recruit and hire engineers as the team grows, setting a high bar for technical ability and collaborative fit. - Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure Advisor Experience products integrate cleanly with Addepar’s broader platform (client portal, reporting infrastructure, and data layer). - Champion operational excellence—own the team’s approach to testing, deployment, incident response, and technical debt management. **Who You Are** - 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a people management or team leadership role. - B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science (or related field), or equivalent practical experience. - Strong full-stack technical background; comfortable reviewing architecture across the stack (e.g., Java backend systems and modern frontend frameworks like React, Ember, or Svelte). - Effective technical leader who stays close enough to the work to guide design decisions, unblock engineers, and maintain high standards in code review. - Experience building and growing engineering teams (hiring, structuring interview loops, scaling through growth). - Clear, direct communicator who can translate technical details into business outcomes across product, design, and leadership. - Familiar with AI-assisted development workflows. - Experience with real-time communication systems, messaging infrastructure, or client-facing portal experiences is a plus. - Background or strong interest in fintech, wealth management, or financial advisor workflows. **Compensation (Base Salary Range)** - **$170,000 — $
