Trusted by companies like **OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme**, and millions of developers worldwide. **About the Role (Engineering Manager, Dashboard)** As an Engineering Manager on the **Dashboard** team, you’ll lead engineers responsible for the primary interface customers use to build, deploy, and manage applications on Vercel. The Dashboard is where customers experience the platform daily—covering onboarding, deployments, observability, billing, security, AI, and team collaboration. You’ll partner closely with **Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams** to deliver intuitive, high-quality product experiences and help shape the long-term architecture of one of Vercel’s most important customer-facing surfaces. This role requires balancing technical leadership, product thinking, and strong people management to ship quickly without compromising quality. **What You Will Do** - Build and grow a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching, mentorship, and career development. - Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and high engineering standards. - Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to define roadmap priorities and execute ambitious goals. - Make sound technical decisions across frontend architecture, performance, reliability, and developer experience. - Occasionally review and contribute code to stay close to the technology and unblock the team. - Drive operational excellence with strong engineering processes, incident management, and continuous improvement. - Balance short-term delivery with long-term investments in technical quality and scalability. - Champion a customer-first mindset to keep the Dashboard fast, intuitive, and delightful. **About You** - Experience leading and growing high-performing engineering teams. - Experience building and operating large-scale customer-facing web applications or developer products. - A strong product engineering mindset and collaboration with product managers and designers. - Experience with modern web technologies such as **React, Next.js, TypeScript**, and the broader JavaScript ecosystem. - Understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimization, accessibility, and design systems. - Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences; ability to build alignment. - Thrives in fast-moving environments and can make decisions with incomplete information. - Cares about inclusive team culture and meaningful impact. **Benefits** - Competitive compensation package and stock options. - Comprehensive, inclusive healthcare package. - Mentorship and professional growth opportunities (including industry events). - Flexible Time Off (recommended minimum of four weeks per year) plus paid holidays. - Remote-friendly culture with teammates across multiple time zones. - Dedicated equipment and work-from-home budget. **Compensation & Location** The San Francisco, CA base pay range is **$226,000–$325,000**. Actual salary depends on job-related skills, experience, and location. Total compensation may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program.
