## Senior Hospital Applications Analyst (Epic - Report Writer) ### Overview This self-directed role is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise reporting and analytical solutions across clinical, operational, and financial data. You’ll partner with operational stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and build reliable, scalable, and maintainable data and reporting solutions. ### What You’ll Do - Partner with clinical, operational, financial, and business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical needs and translate requirements into technical solutions. - Design, develop, modify, test, implement, and maintain reports, dashboards, datasets, data extracts, and analytical solutions using appropriate reporting tools. - Use programming and scripting skills to automate processes, develop analytical solutions, and improve reporting efficiency. - Evaluate existing reports and analytical processes; recommend standardization, optimization, automation, and improved data accessibility. - Create technical specifications and documentation to support development and ongoing maintenance. - Triage incoming reporting and data requests: clarify the business need, assess complexity and priority, and determine the best data source and reporting/analytical approach. - Provide training and guidance for self-service reporting and analytics capabilities. - Collaborate with application teams to understand workflows, documentation standards, and potential gaps. - Act as a liaison between IST and end-user communities. - Work independently, manage multiple priorities, analyze complex problems, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. - Follow University Hospital compliance standards and stay current on applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations and policies. ### Qualifications **Required** - Bachelor’s degree (preference for a health-related discipline such as Nursing or Pharmacy; also acceptable: Computer Science, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Science, or related field). - 3+ years of experience in information systems (preference for candidates from a patient care environment). - Complete an Epic application certification specified by management within 6 months of training. - Strong knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data warehouse environments, data structures, and data analysis. - Experience with Epic reporting tools is highly valuable (role is not limited to Epic; ability to work across multiple data platforms/technologies is required). - Experience developing reports, dashboards, datasets, data extracts, or analytical solutions using business intelligence/reporting tools. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to investigate complex issues and identify root causes. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects. **Preferred** - Experience with Epic reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, dashboards, or other Epic reporting technologies). - Prior Epic experience (highly desirable). - Direct experience with electronic medical records (preferred). ### What We Offer - Vacation time - Medical & prescription drug coverage - Dental & vision insurance - Health Savings Account (HSA) & Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - Short- & long-term disability
