As a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company, Crusoe owns and operates each layer of the stack—from electrons to tokens—to power the world’s most ambitious AI workloads. ### About the Role As **Senior Director of Analytics & Data Science**, you’ll play a key role in how Crusoe makes decisions. This is a **new role** leading a **newly formed centralized team** of analysts and data scientists embedded with the business units and domains they support. You’ll report into the **CFO/COO organization** and be responsible for defining the operating model, hiring and developing the team, setting standards to maintain consistent metrics across the company, and partnering with leadership to enable faster, better-informed decisions. In the near term, much of the work is foundational—building the **data models and definitions** that rigorous analysis depends on. As the foundation matures, the team will take on more **forecasting, experimentation, and predictive work**. ### What You’ll Be Working On - **Stand up the central team:** Partner with business leaders to understand analytical needs and design the staffing + operating model. - **Build and develop the team:** Recruit and grow analysts and data scientists; create a career path and development model to retain talent. - **Set standards for analytical rigor:** Define approaches for statistical/modeling work, experimental design, forecasting, and uncertainty communication; review methods substantively and step in hands-on when needed. - **Build the data science capability:** Identify where predictive/statistical methods will have the most impact (e.g., power utilization, capacity/demand forecasting, schedule & cost forecasting, fleet reliability, product experimentation). - **Own certified marts and metric definitions:** Own business logic, certified data marts, metric dictionary, and business-rule testing; establish peer review. - **Own executive and cross-business reporting:** Provide certified reporting for executives and the board; ensure business-unit operational reporting is built on certified marts. - **Drive high-stakes decision support:** Translate complex cross-functional questions into clear recommendations leadership can act on. - **Build toward self-service:** Enable the business to answer routine questions without routing through analysts (using governed data models and properly defined metrics). - **Maintain close proximity to the business:** Keep analysts embedded in domains through planning cycles, staff meetings, and shared goals. - **Partner with the data team:** Collaborate on the data foundation, contributing domain context and business definitions. ### What You’ll Bring to the Team - **Analytics & data science leadership:** 15+ years in analytics/data science; 5+ years leading teams including data scientists and analysts/analytics engineers. - **Technical depth:** Strong **SQL + Python**, data modeling instincts, and hands-on experience with **dbt** (or equivalent). Ability to build a certified data mart and review models substantively. - **Data science depth:** Experience with forecasting, experimental design, and statistical inference; ownership of production models. - **Modern data stack experience:** e.g., **BigQuery, dbt, Airflow** (or equivalents). - **Governance judgment:** Experience defining/certifying metrics, tes
