**Software Engineer, Simulations (Vehicle Engineering)** **About the Role** Design, develop, and test in-house simulation software supporting all SpaceX flight systems. You'll program core simulation infrastructure and collaborate on building models of fluids, electronics, and multi-body physics systems. This high-impact role works across engineering groups to build high-fidelity simulations for Falcon, Falcon Heavy, Dragon, Starlink, and Starship. **Responsibilities** • Develop and maintain high-fidelity real-time simulation software for all vehicles • Develop prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints • Maintain highest standards of excellence and improve reliability/performance • Work with simulation software users to develop new features and improve experiences **Basic Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM; OR 2+ years professional software development experience • 1+ years development experience in C++ **Preferred Skills** • Strong C++ software design and development skills • Understanding of distributed computing, networking, memory management, CPU scheduling • Knowledge of classical physics and math (algebra, calculus, geometry) • Debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing expertise • Experience with ROS2, Gazebo, or similar open source C++ simulators • Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments and communicate well **Compensation** Level 1: $125,000 - $160,000 | Level 2: $145,000 - $195,000 Includes stock options, bonuses, comprehensive medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability/life insurance, paid parental leave, 3 weeks vacation, 10+ paid holidays. **Requirements** • Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed • ITAR eligible: U.S. citizen, national, green card holder, refugee, or asylee status
