**Software Engineer — Blend** Blend is a diverse team of problem solvers building a cloud banking platform used by Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and 330+ other financial services firms. Their software helps customers process $5B+ in loans per day and deliver end-to-end digital experiences. As a Software Engineer, you’ll design, implement, and maintain the platform that powers 20% of mortgages in the US—translating customer needs into functional, scalable software using an AI-first engineering approach with AI coding agents throughout the development lifecycle. --- **How you’ll contribute** - Build features end-to-end across the stack (responsive, accessible UI to resilient, scalable back-end services) - Use AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) daily across planning, design, codebase analysis, implementation, testing, documentation, code review, and refactoring - Help evolve AI-driven development lifecycle (AIDLC) practices (spec-driven development, agentic workflows, context/prompt engineering) and share learnings - Review, test, and harden AI-generated code to production quality—owning what you ship - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and code - Work with product managers and UI/UX designers to deliver seamless, accessible experiences across devices - Design and develop scalable applications with maintenance, resiliency, and robustness in mind - Identify and troubleshoot defects and issues to ensure timely resolution - Participate in code reviews (including thoughtful review of AI-assisted contributions) and mentor peers - Join the team on-call rotation - Propose and build new ideas—some of Blend’s best features come from engineering initiatives --- **Who you are** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or related) or equivalent practical experience; 2–5 years building production software - Use AI to write code every day (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.) and stay current as tools evolve - Proficient with AIDLC techniques: decomposing problems into well-scoped tasks for agents, writing effective specs/prompts, managing context, and evaluating AI output for correctness, security, and maintainability - Full-stack experience: back-end (Node.js, TypeScript, Go) and front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React or similar) - Experience with databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, or similar - High learning velocity and curiosity about new tools/techniques - Excellent communicator who can operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment --- **Compensation** - **Base Salary Range:** $129,000 – $152,000 (final offer depends on function, level, geographic location, and relevant knowledge/skills/experience) - **Bonus (if applicable):** eligibility depends on company performance vs. goals and individual performance objectives - **Equity:** meaningful Restricted Stock Units in public company stock (NYSE: BLND) --- **Benefits at a Glance** - Medical, dental, and vision with generous employer contribution - Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability - Generous PTO, holidays, and maternity/parental leave - Employee Assistance Program (mental health, legal, childcare/eldercare, financial planning, college search, and more) - Voluntary benefits (accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, identity theft, legal insurance) - Monthly wellness stipend - Additional perks (Milk Stork, pet insurance, paid volunteer time off) - 4
