**Machine Learning Engineer: Perception Analytics** **About Bedrock** Bedrock is deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment across the country. The team includes veterans from Waymo, Segment ($3.2B acquisition), and Uber Freight ($5B revenue). In two years, they've raised $350M and achieved the first fully autonomous excavator deployments in construction. **The Role** Develop perception features for customer analytics platforms. You'll tackle real-world challenges like measuring dig productivity from lidar/camera data, modifying perception systems for job site metrics, measuring site-wide safety, and re-identifying objects across dozens of camera views through dust and changing light. **What You'll Do** • Extend, modify, and adapt existing perception signals for analytics needs • Work with customers to define and scope what's possible with advanced perception systems • Deploy models and analytics directly to fleets of machines **Requirements** • MSc or advanced degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field • 4+ years shipping perception systems to production (robotic/embedded platforms) • Strong hands-on experience with modeling frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) • Proficient in Python; comfortable with C++, Rust, or similar systems languages • Experience with raw sensor data (camera, lidar, IMU) in learned pipelines • Solid grounding in 3D geometry, sensor calibration, coordinate transforms, and camera re-projection • Strong data analysis skills (statistical characterization, anomaly discovery, evaluation design) **Nice to Have** • Customer-facing perception data and analytics experience • Rust programming experience • Published work in top venues (ICRA, IROS, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, CoRL, RSS) **Location** Bay Area – daily/weekly onsite at SF office **Equal Opportunity Employer** Bedrock considers all qualified applicants without regard to protected characteristics and provides reasonable accommodations.
