We’re building the infrastructure that helps the industry move faster, reach more people, and deliver on its promise. ## About the Team — Pre-Sales Tools Pre-Sales Tools powers tools and experiences that let insurance agents and distribution partners **quote, configure, and submit applications before checkout**. It’s Bestow’s **B2B front door**—if agents struggle here, leads go elsewhere. Team size: **8 engineers**. ## What You’ll Do - Build and scale **Go services** powering agent quoting, configuration, and application-submission tools used before checkout - Partner closely with the **App & Checkout** teams (tight coupling between surfaces) - Resolve **partner-specific edge cases** as distribution partners and volume scale - Write **unit and integration tests** for code you ship; perform **peer reviews** with the team - Use **AI coding tools** (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) as a default part of your daily workflow - Support knowledge transfer with a high contractor ratio (Howdy), including **pairing** and **documenting** as you go - Help improve **automation** and **CI/CD** practices across the team ## Who You Are - **3+ years** of professional backend software development experience - Professional experience with **Go**; comfortable owning services end-to-end - Experience with **distributed systems / microservices** and designing APIs (REST, gRPC, OpenAPI, Protocol Buffers) - Experience using **Docker** for local development and **CI/CD** as a default practice - Demonstrated day-to-day fluency using **AI tools** (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, etc.) in real engineering work—able to explain where they help and where they don’t - Comfortable contributing to architectural discussions and stepping into mentorship moments as they come (even without a formal title) ## Competencies - **Go Backend Craftsmanship:** idiomatic, maintainable Go; strong concurrency, error handling, and package structure - **System Design & Architecture:** components that hold up under growth and stay maintainable within Bestow’s platform - **API Design:** clear, versioned APIs (REST/gRPC/OpenAPI) that internal teams and partners can consume confidently - **Testing & Quality Discipline:** unit/integration tests as a default habit - **AI-Augmented Engineering:** uses AI tools for code, tests, debugging, and design—paired with independent technical judgment - **Cross-Team Collaboration:** effective across tightly coupled teams and partners (especially App & Checkout) - **Debugging & Production Support:** methodical diagnosis and resolution under real production constraints - **Communication Clarity:** explains technical tradeoffs for engineers, PMs, and non-technical partners - **Growth & Collaboration:** collaborates and improves continuously ## Benefits / Total Rewards (Highlights) - Competitive salary and **equity** based on role - Flexible paid time off and parental leave programs - **100% paid-premium** option for medical, dental, and vision insurance - Lifestyle stipend for physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing - Flexible work-from-home policy; remote options available - Remote/WFH options plus a modern office in **Dallas’ Deep Ellum** - Employee-led DEI initiatives ## Equal Opportunity Bestow
