## Bedrock — Internship 2027: Software Engineer, Fleet Platform ### About the team At Bedrock, we’re moving AI out of the lab and into the real world—deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction equipment across the country to improve safety and accelerate critical infrastructure schedules. As Bedrock scales deployments nationwide, **Fleet Engineering** builds the platforms and internal tools used across the company to manage our growing fleet of autonomous machines. ### About the role During the summer, you’ll **design, build, and ship a critical internal tool end-to-end**—and we’ll continue using it after you leave. You’ll collaborate with engineering and operations teams and see what it takes to run robots in production. ### What you’ll do - Understand, design, and build an internal tool for a key challenge in the robot lifecycle, and define what “done” means - Interview the people who will use the tool and translate their pain into requirements - Build the tool end-to-end (data, backend, and interfaces) with cross-functional support - Instrument usage to measure whether the tool is helping - Iterate quickly based on real operator feedback (including possible field travel) - Document and hand off so what you build survives past the summer ### What we’re looking for **Required** - Currently pursuing a **BS or MS** in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on building experience) - Ability to design and build **full-stack software applications** - Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., **Python, Rust, C++, TypeScript**) - **Product sense**: you’d rather ship the useful version than the elegant one - Comfort working with ambiguity and defining your own scope - Clear communication with teams outside engineering (users may operate excavators, repair hardware in the field, or work directly with customers) **Preferred** - Experience with data visualization or operational dashboards - Experience shipping software to production - Exposure to fleet telemetry, IoT, robotics, or operations tooling - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD ### Equal Opportunity Employer Bedrock Robotics is an **Equal Opportunity Employer** and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. ### Reasonable Accommodations If you need an accommodation to participate in the application or interview process, please let your recruiter know so we can support you.
