**Principal Infrastructure Architect: Data Platform** **About the Role** Partner with ZoomInfo's data engineering organization to establish infrastructure patterns, enable teams, and drive architectural excellence for data platforms on GCP. This is a cloud architect role with deep data systems specialization. **Key Responsibilities** • **Patterns & Standards** – Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code patterns for data workloads (Kafka, BigQuery, Snowflake, Airflow, Elasticsearch, etc.) • **Data Paved Road** – Build CI/CD and GitOps workflows for data jobs and pipelines • **Performance & Cost** – Establish patterns for efficiency, observability, backup/DR, and FinOps alignment • **Technology Evaluation** – Run structured POCs for emerging data technologies and vendor offerings • **Managed Services Integration** – Define patterns for connecting vendor platforms (Confluent Cloud, Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas) securely to GCP • **Architecture Review** – Participate in cross-domain reviews and expand standards/ADR catalog • **Enablement** – Host design reviews, workshops, and serve as infrastructure consultant to data teams **What We're Looking For** • 10-15+ years cloud infrastructure/platform/data engineering experience • Strong GCP/AWS foundation: Kubernetes, VPC networking, IAM, Terraform, GitOps • Hands-on experience operating data platforms at multi-terabyte+ scale • Deep expertise in 2+ data domains (streaming, databases, analytics, search, orchestration) • Proven ability to diagnose and fix performance/cost issues and turn fixes into reusable patterns • Strong communication and influence—patterns adopted through leadership, not authority • Comfort with prototyping and hands-on implementation **Bonus Experience** • Lakehouse or data mesh migrations • Data classification, residency, or compliance controls • Graph or distributed SQL databases • AI/ML data infrastructure (feature stores, vector databases) • Architecture Review Council participation **Requirements** • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) • 10-15+ years relevant experience **Compensation & Benefits** US Base Salary: $157,500–$247,500 USD (plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits) **Work Location:** Remote
