We operate at the intersection of mission and innovation across federal markets—modernizing, automating, securing, and enhancing the operations of our clients through a digital-first approach. --- ## Cloud Architect (Lead Technical Architect) A-TEK is seeking an experienced **Cloud Architect** to serve as the lead technical architect supporting a federal project. You will lead the assessment, design, documentation, and governance of complex cloud and hybrid enterprise environments while partnering with systems engineering, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and technical modernization initiatives. **Location:** On-site in **Silver Spring, MD** **Security Requirement:** Ability to obtain and retain a **public trust** clearance is required. **US Citizenship** is required. --- ## Key Responsibilities - Lead cloud architecture assessments for **IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and CDaaS** environments - Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, dependency maps, data flows, interface documentation, and security boundary documentation - Analyze **As-Is** and **To-Be** enterprise architectures supporting modernization initiatives - Provide technical recommendations aligned with **FEAF** and enterprise architecture best practices - Perform systems engineering activities across the system lifecycle (per **IEEE/ISO/IEC 15288**) - Support **Agile** and traditional (Waterfall/V-Model) engineering efforts across multiple projects - Evaluate technical risks, maintain engineering risk registers, and recommend mitigation strategies - Conduct technical assessments of cloud migration strategies, API integrations, system interfaces, and data pipelines - Collaborate with Government stakeholders and engineering leadership to support engineering governance - Support **DevSecOps** by integrating security, automated testing, and continuous validation into engineering workflows - Prepare technical documentation, architecture products, engineering analyses, and executive briefings - Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers --- ## Required Qualifications - **Bachelor’s degree** in Systems Engineering (or other Engineering degree) - Minimum **8 years** designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cloud solutions - **AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional** (or equivalent Azure/Google Cloud certification) - Experience architecting solutions within **AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud** environments - Experience with enterprise systems engineering methodologies and lifecycle management - Experience supporting **Federal cloud modernization** initiatives - Experience with **NIST RMF**, **FedRAMP**, and **FIPS 199** security requirements - Experience producing architecture documentation and technical roadmaps - Excellent written and verbal communication skills --- ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (**FEAF, TOGAF, DoDAF**) - Experience with **MBSE** (model-based systems engineering) - Experience using architecture modeling tools (e.g., **Sparx EA, Cameo, LeanIX**, or similar) - Experience with text-based architecture modeling tools (e.g., **PlantUML, Mermaid, Structurizr DSL**) - Experience supporting **DevSecOps**, **CI/CD**, **Kubernetes**, containerization, and infrastructure automation - Experience supporting **NOAA**, Department of Commerce, or other Federal civilian agencies --- ## De
