**Documentation Engineer** **About Modal:** Modal is building a new infrastructure layer for AI. Team includes open-source creators, researchers, and experienced engineering leaders. **The Role:** We're seeking a content-minded engineer to partner with product teams on Modal's technical documentation. You'll maintain high quality standards as agents increasingly deploy and operate Modal Apps. **Responsibilities:** • Think holistically about content architecture and docs evolution with new products/features • Innovate on documentation formats and delivery channels for agent productivity • Develop content standards, style guides, and automated enforcement mechanisms • Build and maintain automated pipelines for code example and prose correctness • Collaborate across engineering teams on clear, consistent, correct documentation **Requirements:** • 3+ years in engineering, product, or developer relations (devtools/infrastructure preferred) • Experience authoring/editing high-quality technical content for developers • Knowledge of agentic engineering workflows and best practices • Comfort with modern software development (version control, CI/CD, testing)
