**Latitude AI — Senior Software Engineer (C++) (Sensor Pipelines)** Latitude AI (lat.ai) is building the future of Ford’s autonomy roadmap to make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone. As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, Latitude operates independently to develop automated driving technology at startup speed. The hands-free ADAS platform will debut on the all-new Ford Fathom in 2027. **Meet the team** The Embedded Software team develops hardware drivers, hardware safety monitoring, and vehicle interfaces for the autonomy system. In the Sensor firmware team, you’ll develop embedded software for radars/lidars and networking functions for these sensors—building safe, efficient sensing software. **What you’ll do** - Deliver safe and efficient embedded software for Radar and Lidar sensors - Produce high-quality, maintainable code using C++ - Design, implement, and test high-performance C++ code in resource-constrained environments - Design, implement, and test solutions aligned with Functional Safety standards - Work closely with suppliers and cross-functional hardware/system engineering teams **What you’ll need to succeed** - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related field, plus relevant experience (e.g., 4+ years with a BS; 2+ years with an MS; or PhD) - 4+ years of strong experience developing embedded applications/systems using C++ - Proficiency in network communication concepts (protocols, physical layer requirements, bandwidth characteristics, configuration) - Strong software design, algorithm, problem-solving, and analytical skills - Experience with multi-processor SoCs or similar embedded processors - Familiarity with Embedded RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS) and/or Embedded Linux (desired) - Experience building software for complex, safety-critical sensing systems (preferred) **Nice to have** - Strong knowledge/experience with network-based sensors such as radar and lidar - Technical leadership track record in automotive or related fields taking products to production **What we offer you** - Competitive compensation packages - High-quality medical, dental, and vision insurance - Health savings account (with employer match) - Employer-matched 401(k) with immediate vesting - Employer-paid group term life insurance + option for voluntary life - Paid parental leave and paid medical leave - Unlimited vacation + 15 paid holidays - Daily lunches, snacks, and beverages in office locations - Pre-tax spending accounts (healthcare/dependent care) and commuter benefits - Monthly wellness stipend - Adoption/Surrogacy support, backup child and elder care program - Professional development reimbursement - Employee assistance program - Discounted programs (legal services, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and more) - Team bonding outlets (employee resource groups, quarterly activity stipend, wellness initiatives) **Location / Pay** - Expected base salary range for this full-time position in California: **$179,200 – $268,800 USD** (actual pay depends on factors like location, experience, and skills).
