## Responsibilities - Architect, develop, and operationalize next-generation **agentic AI systems** powered by advanced LLMs and **Model Context Protocol (MCP)** frameworks. - Build intelligent, multi-step, **tool-using agents** that can autonomously reason, plan, and execute complex workflows across a cloud-based analytics ecosystem. - Design and implement **agent orchestration frameworks** and integrate model-driven decision logic. - Develop **production-grade** agent capabilities that safely leverage emerging AI techniques. - Provide technical leadership, drive proof-of-concept innovation, and partner with engineering/product teams to translate experimental architectures into real-world impact. ## Qualifications - **8+ years** with BS/BA; **6+ years** with MS/MA; **3+ years** with PhD. ### Mandatory Requirements - Strong software engineering background with deep experience building **production-grade applications/services**. - Expertise developing agentic AI systems (planning, tool-use, multi-step reasoning, workflow execution, autonomous decisioning). - Hands-on experience designing and implementing **MCP-based integrations** and tool interfaces. - Ability to translate ambiguous business/mission requirements into scalable AI-driven solutions. - Proficiency with LLM development practices: **fine-tuning, RAG, prompt engineering**, and agent interaction models. - Strong **Python** skills; familiarity with distributed compute, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures. - Experience integrating agents/LLM components into **Azure, AWS, GCP**, or large-scale data ecosystems. - Understanding of **LLMOps/MLOps**: versioning, testing, deployment automation, monitoring, and governance. - Ability to lead solution design, mentor developers, and communicate complex AI architectures to technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Version control and modern **CI/CD** (e.g., Git/GitHub), including automated testing, deployment pipelines, and release management. - **US Citizen** with ability to obtain/maintain a **Public Trust clearance**. ### Preferred Requirements - Experience building **multi-agent systems** (agent swarms, coordinated reasoning frameworks). - Familiarity with advanced tool-calling strategies (dynamic tool selection, function-call planning, graph-structured planners). - Experience with structured LLM evaluation, agent benchmarking, or test harnesses. - Knowledge of performance optimization (caching, distillation, model routing, accelerated inference). - Background integrating agentic components with analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Spark). - Hands-on experience developing innovative POCs in fast-paced R&D environments. - Familiarity with emerging agentic frameworks (e.g., **Strands Agents, LangGraph, CrewAI**). - Exposure to safety-oriented design patterns (guardrails, validation layers, constrained-action frameworks). - Experience designing secure, compliance-aware systems handling sensitive data (including **HIPAA** and federal security standards), with encryption, access controls, auditability, and governance for **PHI**. ## Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company delivering mission-critical solutions and transformative enterprise IT to protect the nation and allies. ## Target Salary Range **$135,000 - $216,000** (typical range; final offer depends on factors including experience, education, location, and contract/business considerations).
