## Insider Risk Security Engineer **Location:** Remote (United States) ### About Zscaler Zscaler (NASDAQ: ZS) accelerates digital transformation with the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange™ platform—an in-line, cloud security platform that helps protect users, devices, and applications from cyberattacks and data loss. ### Role Join the Enterprise Security team as a **senior contributor** on the **Insider Risk** program. You’ll refine playbooks, lead detection engineering, mentor junior analysts, and represent the team with HR, Legal, and executive stakeholders. ### What you’ll do (Role Expectations) - Sharpen Insider Risk detection capabilities by refining rules to reduce noise, close coverage gaps, and surface high-fidelity alerts in adequate time. - Conduct endpoint and user activity investigations using **EDR/XDR, UEBA, and SIEM** tools; manage cases end-to-end to create factual timelines. - Develop and iterate insider risk investigation playbooks, translating case patterns and lessons learned into scalable, defensible processes. - Serve as a key contact for **HR, Legal, and business leaders** on active investigations, preparing clear evidentiary case documentation. ### Who you are (Success Profile) - Thrive in ambiguity and build the path forward in dynamic environments. - Act with ownership—balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and uncompromised integrity. - Bring constructive energy and inspire teammates toward shared solutions. - Execute with urgency—balancing speed and quality for high-impact outcomes. - Stay resilient under pressure and guide others through change. ### Minimum Qualifications - Foundational understanding of **AI/ML** technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes. - **U.S. Citizenship required**. - **6+ years** experience in insider risk, data protection, fraud investigation, or security operations, with a proven track record in senior investigative roles, process ownership, and designing detection frameworks/playbooks. - Experience managing and dispositioning alerts within a **SIEM or SOAR**. - Strong communication skills with cross-functional engagement (HR, Legal, business leaders) while maintaining discretion and sound judgment. - Proficiency in **Python or JavaScript**, with experience applying automation to investigative workflows. ### Preferred Qualifications - Hands-on experience with Zscaler’s product portfolio (CyberRisk Protection, Data Protection, Zero Trust Networking) in large-scale enterprise environments. - Experience working with product development teams to implement security use cases. - Relevant certifications (e.g., **GCFA, GCFE**) or equivalent forensics credentials; familiarity with industry frameworks (CERT, NIST, NSA). ### Tags #AJ-1 #LI-Remote ### Pay Transparency (Base Pay Range) **$134,000 — $167,500 USD** (excluding commission/bonus/equity, if applicable, and benefits) ### Benefits (Highlights) - Various health plans - Time off plans (vacation and sick time) - Parental leave options - Retirement options - Education reimbursement - In-office perks, and more *By applying, you agree to applicable laws, regulations, and Zscaler policies, including security and privacy standards.
