## Staff Machine Learning Engineer ### About the role Bayesian Health is an early-stage startup on a mission to make healthcare proactive by empowering clinicians and care teams with real-time data to save lives. This role is **part Data Scientist, part Applied Scientist, and part MLE**—often described as a **“Full Stack Data Scientist”**. You’ll **own the end-to-end effectiveness** of real-time models in a live, clinical AI product. ### What you’ll do - **Prototype and tune** innovative ML models and labeler systems grounded in clinical use cases and state-of-the-art ML methods. - **Productionize** the models you build using production-grade Python. - **Deploy and improve** production ML systems by writing, debugging, and shipping production-grade Python code. - **Build MLOps infrastructure** that enables reliable model development and deployment in production. ### Responsibilities - **Model Prototyping:** Develop and tune new ML models and labeler systems. - **Productionizing:** Take models from development into production. - **Deploying:** Identify strategies to improve production ML systems and implement them. - **MLOps:** Create infrastructure for ML model development and deployment. ### Minimum qualifications - **Ph.D.** in a relevant field + **3+ years** experience, *or* a **Master’s** + **5+ years** shipping ML-based software products. - Experience **owning ML models** from prototyping through production. - Experience writing **production-grade Python and SQL** to implement and evaluate ML models. - Experience with **MLOps tools** such as **SageMaker** and **MLflow**. ### Preferred qualifications - Experience going **0→1** and shipping high-impact AI/ML products. - Healthcare experience and/or familiarity with **messy health data**. - Experience working with **enterprise customers**. - Ability to interpret and leverage **state-of-the-art peer-reviewed methods/tools**. - Strong alignment with Bayesian Health’s mission and a drive to raise the bar. ### Equal opportunity Bayesian Health provides equal employment opportunities and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type.
