About this role
**Senior GTM AI Engineer — AssemblyAI** ## Why AssemblyAI AssemblyAI builds best-in-class Voice AI models powering the next generation of voice applications. Our models serve **600M+ inference calls monthly**, process **1M+ hours of audio daily**, and power **2B+ end-user experiences**. We’re a lean, fast-moving team with outsized ownership—where your work directly impacts pipeline and revenue. ## About the Role We’re hiring our first **Senior GTM AI Engineer**. This is a software engineering role inside the revenue org. You’ll build the pipelines, internal tools, and agents that determine **which companies we go after**, **how we reach them**, and **what sellers see**. You’ll turn sales ops work that used to be manual into software—finding voice AI companies before they contact us, researching accounts, drafting outreach, monitoring product usage for expansion/churn signals, keeping the CRM clean, and ensuring funnel data is trustworthy. Your users are **AEs, SDRs, and GTM leaders**—your job is to make a small team perform like one three times its size. ## What You’ll Do - Write code every day: **Python services**, **SQL models**, **scheduled jobs**, and small internal apps (using tools like **Claude Code** to ship faster). - Build agents for: **account research**, **lead qualification**, **outreach drafting**, **CRM hygiene**, and **usage monitoring**. - Convert **BigQuery + Looker** product usage data into actionable signals: **usage alerts**, **expansion triggers**, and **account health scores**. - Build the **account targeting machine**: sourcing, enrichment, dedupe, and **ICP scoring** to produce ranked rep queues. - Integrate systems the team already uses (CRM, enrichment providers, outbound tools) so data moves **without human in the loop**. - Maintain trustworthy funnel data: **routing rules**, **field governance**, and **attribution**. - Prototype quickly, measure results, iterate with Sales/Marketing leadership, and document what you build. ## What You’ll Need - **4+ years** as a software engineer, data engineer, or growth/GTM engineer—shipping systems others depend on. - Strong **Python** and **SQL**; owned production automations end-to-end (APIs, webhooks, scheduled jobs, retries, error handling, monitoring). - Experience building with **LLMs** beyond single prompts: multi-step agents, tool use, retrieval, and evaluation. - AI-assisted development workflow (e.g., **Claude Code**) with strong engineering judgment to review, test, and stand behind outputs. - Solid engineering fundamentals: clean code, version control, code review, debugging, systems thinking. - Curiosity about how a sales org works; willingness to learn the CRM and GTM tooling quickly. - Builder mindset + operator judgment: scope for business impact, ship iteratively, measure pipeline/revenue. - Low ego, high ownership, comfort being the single-threaded owner of a domain. ## Nice to Have - Hands-on **Salesforce** (or other CRM) work at the object/API level; experience with enrichment/outbound tools like **Clay**. - **dbt**, **BigQuery**, **Looker** (or equivalent warehouse/BI stack). - Experience at developer-facing/API-first companies or selling to technical buyers. - Experience being the **first engineer** in a sales or growth org and building from scratch. ## Pay Transparency **Salary range (U.S.): $160,000 to $220,000** ## AI to Interview If selected, review AssemblyAI’s **Candidate AI Guidance**: https://www.assemblyai.com/candidate-ai-guidance
