**About Akuity** With the move to the cloud, Kubernetes has become widely adopted by DevOps and Platform Engineering teams. Argo CD, the third most popular CNCF project, is used by 70% of companies running Kubernetes in production. Akuity was founded in 2021 to enable enterprises to ship software faster with modern GitOps best practices, providing an end-to-end platform for managing hundreds or thousands of Kubernetes clusters from a single control plane. **The Role** As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll build and improve Akuity's SaaS platform for the global developer community. You'll mentor team members, participate in product development, and help shape company culture while solving real pain points for developers. **What You'll Own** • Design, build, test, and improve Akuity's SaaS platform • Develop server-side services in Go • Collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver features that simplify infrastructure operations • Ensure the platform remains scalable and built with developer empathy **Required Experience** • 5+ years of development experience • 3+ years developing scalable web applications with Golang • Experience building Kubernetes controllers/operators at scale (AWS, GCP, Azure, or On-prem) • Deep knowledge of systems design, API design, and infrastructure • Experience with relational databases (Postgres/MySQL) • BS in Computer Science or equivalent • Located in US time zones (Pacific through Eastern), including Canada **Strong Advantages** • Experience with Argo CD, Kargo, or GitOps workflows • Familiarity with multi-region, multi-cluster Kubernetes deployments • Compliance infrastructure experience (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS) • Background operating infrastructure for platform/developer tooling companies **Tech Stack** Kubernetes (EKS), AWS, Argo CD & Kargo, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Terraform, Go **What We Offer** • Competitive compensation with equity • Fully remote (US time zones) • Home office stipend and equipment budget • Flexible time off • Work with Argo CD and Kargo creators
