**Omada Health — Engineering Manager, Infrastructure** ## Job overview We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to lead two squads building Omada’s Platform and Engineering Systems. These squads own problems from prototype to production, including maintenance and the on-call rotation for what they ship. You’ll be responsible for what your squads work on, in what order, and how your teams grow. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll ship code alongside AI-powered engineers. You’ll own execution and run squad rituals including iteration shaping, prioritization, backlog refinement, and initiative estimation. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Design, IT, InfoSec, Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and beyond—managing millions of dollars in annual vendor budget and audit controls, and helping teams streamline audit responses through automation and evidence management. ## About you - You’re accountable for what your squads ship, and you still write code. - You’re an experienced engineering leader with strong opinions about the systems you maintain. - You understand the tradeoffs of AI-assisted development—where it helps and where it creates rework. - Above all, you’re enthusiastic about delivering the best possible care for our members and building a great engineering team. ## What you’ll be doing - **Managing, hiring, and mentoring:** Lead ~5 people; expand the team as needed and help engineers grow. - **Own the squad’s delivery:** Sprint shaping, prioritization, backlog grooming, and estimation. - **Own cycle time at constant or better quality:** Move it and explain it. - **Ship code:** Production work every sprint, off the critical path, using the same agent workflows as your squad. - **Grow your engineers:** Provide leadership and support that helps people thrive. - **Own operational health:** Lead on-call rotations, MTTR, and post-incident analysis. - **Escalate early, often, and precisely:** Bring tradeoffs and recommendations using engineering/product taste. - **Hire the next generation of AI-augmented Omadans:** Build careers with us. ## What you need for this role - **8+ years** in software engineering, including **2+ years managing engineers** (or equivalent delivery leadership). - A track record shipping **mission-critical** software to production and owning outcomes afterward. - Ability to build roadmaps, plan capacity, evaluate tradeoffs, and negotiate with stakeholders. - Experience owning prioritization and estimation (including saying “no, not now” and explaining why). - Experience giving direct developmental feedback and managing underperformance with real support. - Currently shipping (or recently shipped) production code across at least one layer of the stack (e.g., multi-account AWS, CI, k8s, backend services, GitOps release management, internal tools). - Hands-on experience directing AI agents through real production changes, with a considered view on where they help vs. create rework. - Understanding of **CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and telemetry**. - A security-minded approach to design and build. - Excellent written communication. ## Technologies we use **Architecture & Infrastructure:** AWS (EKS, IAM, RDS, SQS, etc), Docker, GitLab, Argo/Kargo, Vault, Datadog, PagerDuty. **Application Engineering:** Ruby on Rails, Python (Flask, FastAPI), React, native iOS (Swift, SwiftUI), native Android (Kotlin), PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Claude. ## Benefits - Competitive salary + generous annual cash bonus
