**Engineering Manager, Cloud Platform** **About Baseten** Baseten powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies like Cursor, Notion, OpenEvidence, Abridge, Clay, Gamma, and Writer. We recently raised our $1.5B Series F and are building the platform engineers rely on to ship AI products. **The Role** Lead Baseten's Cloud Platform team, directly managing cloud platform engineers responsible for scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure. You'll focus on unblocking your team, shaping technical direction, and developing engineers while keeping the team connected to user needs. **Key Responsibilities** • Recruit, hire, and develop high-performing cloud platform engineers • Set performance expectations and foster ownership and accountability • Drive technical decisions through design and code reviews • Establish reliability and operational excellence standards • Partner with product and engineering teams on infrastructure priorities • Lead incident response and drive systematic learning **Requirements** • Proven experience directly managing engineers in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE • Extensive hands-on Kubernetes experience • Strong background building scalable production infrastructure • Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi) and CI/CD tooling • Demonstrated ability to drive projects end-to-end and coach your team • Strong communication and cross-team influence skills • Track record recruiting and growing engineering talent • Openness to learning ML infrastructure (prior ML experience not required) **Nice to Have** • OSS observability tooling experience (Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) • Multi-cloud or GPU infrastructure background • On-call rotation and incident response process experience **Benefits** Competitive compensation with equity • 100% medical/dental/vision coverage (U.S.) • Flexible PTO + Winter Break • Paid parental leave • Fertility stipend • 401(k) (U.S.) • Exposure to diverse ML startups **Equal Opportunity Employer**
