Founded in 2005, Box simplifies work for leading global organizations including JLL, Morgan Stanley, and Nationwide. **The Role** We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of cross-platform AI experiences. You'll own or co-own team-level initiatives across web & mobile that ship delightful Box AI user experiences to customers. Your primary focus will be on front-end architecture in React and React Native while partnering closely with backend engineers and cross-functional stakeholders. **What You'll Do** • Own or co-own the design, implementation, and delivery of Box AI chat and agentic frontend experiences across web and mobile applications (~80% frontend, ~20% backend collaboration) • Shape requirements alongside Product Managers and UX Designers, making trade-offs quickly in a fast-paced environment • Ship weekly to production with daily PRs and incremental feature delivery within one-week sprints • Define cross-platform best practices for feature development across web, iOS, and Android • Uphold accessibility, performance, and quality standards through code reviews and testing • Stay current with evolving AI model capabilities and translate them into customer value • Partner with backend teams to define interfaces and delivery milestones • Participate in on-call rotation **Who You Are** • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong front-end focus and deep React expertise (React Native is a plus) • Full-stack understanding of backend APIs, system design, and interface contracts • Active user of AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex) as core part of your workflow — **this is a hard requirement** • Demonstrated track record of shipping significant changes with minimal guidance in fast-paced environments • Collaborative mindset with commitment to inclusive design and peer mentoring • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, A/B testing, and feature flag-driven development **Location & Culture** Redwood City, CA (minimum 3 days per week in office).
