Join us to help build the platform engineers rely on to ship AI products. --- **THE ROLE** Baseten is seeking **Software Engineers** to join our **Platform team** within the **Infrastructure organization**. As an early member of the Platform Team, you’ll build internal infrastructure that supports Baseten’s engineering organization—owning the **deployment platform**, **release pipelines**, and **rollout safety mechanisms**. Your mission: make production deployments **fast, safe, and increasingly autonomous**. If you enjoy elegant solutions (streamlined monorepos, lightning-fast CI, thoughtfully designed shared libraries), you’ll thrive here. --- **RESPONSIBILITIES** - Design and build **continuous deployment infrastructure** that safely rolls out changes across **dozens of Kubernetes clusters** and **global regions** - Develop **progressive delivery** systems (canary releases, staged rollouts, automated rollback) - Improve engineering velocity by reducing friction in the release pipeline and automating manual operational workflows - Partner with product and infrastructure teams to ensure services are **deployable, observable, and resilient** at scale - Implement and evolve deployment methodologies such as **GitOps**, **infrastructure-as-code**, and progressive delivery patterns - Build systems that automatically evaluate deployment health using **metrics, logs, traces, and alerts** to detect regressions and trigger safe rollbacks - Interest in building systems for **agent-assisted or autonomous deployment workflows** using modern AI tooling --- **REQUIREMENTS** - Strong-level proficiency in **Go and/or Python** - Experience with **Kubernetes-based deployment systems** at scale - Experience building or operating **continuous deployment platforms** - Familiarity with **GitOps** tooling such as **ArgoCD** or **Flux** - Strong focus on **safe production rollouts** and minimizing blast radius - Excellent developer tool culture and best practices - Bonus: you’ve personally developed **open-source developer tools** - Excited to build foundational infrastructure and comfortable working independently on ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges --- **BENEFITS** - Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity - **(U.S. only)** 100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents - Flexible PTO, including company-wide **Winter Break** (offices closed Christmas Eve–New Year’s Day) - Paid parental leave - Fertility and family-building stipend through Carrot - **(U.S. only)** Company-facilitated **401(k)** - Exposure to a variety of ML startups—great learning and networking opportunities --- **EQUAL OPPORTUNITY** Baseten is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and provides equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees.
