**Senior Software Engineer — Account Infrastructure** Roblox is building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience to life—connecting a billion people with optimism and civility through safer, more civil shared experiences. ## Why Safety? The Safety organization’s mission is to become the leader in civil immersive online communities. You’ll help systematically detect, remove, and prevent problematic accounts, content, and behavior, and make Roblox accounts secure and free from compromise—using a broad tech stack including machine learning, classifiers for 3D models, experimentation, automation, detection workflows, and AI-powered text filters. ## Why Account Infrastructure? Authenticating and authorizing the Roblox user base is the foundation for nearly every other platform feature. Users must trust that their accounts are not used without permission, and Roblox must deliver auth/security controls that adapt to each user’s unique risk profile—at massive scale (up to 1B active users). As part of the **Account Auth Infra Team**, you’ll work at the intersection of adversarial problem solving and high-scalability engineering, reporting to the **Engineering Manager of Account Authentication**. ## You Will - Own the complete lifecycle for full-stack features within Auth Infra: specification, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and iteration—aligned with the pod roadmap. - Collaborate closely with partner teams in Application Security, Roblox Core Services, and the broader Roblox Safety org. - Define architectural direction for scaling account authentication and security. - Contribute to and maintain user authentication and security infrastructure. - Take end-to-end responsibility for projects. - Drive cross-functional engagement and lead technical initiatives to ensure adoption and success of core safety applications. - Report directly to the Manager of Account Authentication. ## You Have - **5+ years** of software development experience. - **Distributed Systems Architecture:** Ability to design and implement robust, high-throughput microservices (thousands of requests/sec) with a strong focus on safety and security. - **Full-Stack Proficiency:** Experience across front-end (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and back-end (e.g., Python, Java, Go) to deliver end-to-end features. - **Safety-Driven Mindset:** Commitment to systems that prioritize user safety, data integrity, and compliance. - Equivalent experience or a **BS** in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or another technical field. - Curiosity to learn new technologies and grow systematically. ## You Are - **Experienced (4+ years):** Full-stack engineer with strong back-end experience on complex, production-grade systems end-to-end. - **Analytical & Data-Driven:** Ability to instrument, collect, and analyze user interaction data (e.g., A/B testing, usage metrics) to guide design and maximize impact. - **Versatile & Adaptable:** Experience working in **Rust, Go, and C#**; helping revamp development flows and incorporate AI where possible. - **Team-Player & Technical Leader:** Mentors peers, drives technical excellence, and leads key initiatives across boundaries. - **AI-native:** Eager to define and build AI-centric solutions, including modern machine learning and agentic AI capabilities in both user experience and system architecture. ## Compensation & Location Notes - **San Mateo, CA (HQ-based roles):** Starting base pay r
