**At Lyft — Backend Software Engineer (Airports)** Lyft’s purpose is to serve and connect. The Airports team is part of a mission-critical effort that keeps travelers moving smoothly. As an engineer on this team, you’ll help ensure drivers and riders have a dependable experience at airports by collaborating across Lyft, building reliable real-time communication with airports, and integrating technology seamlessly into airport operations. **Responsibilities** - Drive high-impact projects and innovate new solutions to deliver the best user experience - Lead large features from idea through execution and launch - Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code - Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with the team - Join on-call rotation: identify, triage, debug, and resolve issues/bugs across applications and platforms - Explain the trade-offs behind technical decisions - Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables **Experience** - BS/MS (or equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience - 2–5+ years of software engineering / production infrastructure experience - Experience with **Python** and **Go** - Proficiency in object-oriented programming - Experience with data structures and algorithms - Ability to work in a low-ego, highly collaborative, cross-functional environment - **Bonus:** experience with side projects or open-source **Benefits** - Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options (plus additional programs) - Mental health benefits - Family building benefits - Child care and pet benefits - 401(k) plan with company match - Paid time off: 12 observed holidays + discretionary PTO for salaried roles (15 days PTO for hourly roles) - 18 weeks of paid parental leave (biological, adoptive, and foster parents eligible) - Subsidized commuter benefits - Monthly Lyft credits and complimentary Lyft Pink membership **Hybrid / Location** - In-office on a hybrid schedule: **3 days per week** (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) - Hybrid roles may work from anywhere for up to **4 weeks per year** **Pay Range (San Francisco area)** - Expected base pay: **$128,000 – $160,000** (not inclusive of potential equity, bonus, or benefits) Lyft is an equal opportunity employer committed to an inclusive workplace.
