Today, 2M+ devices are deployed across 170+ countries. **What You’ll Do** - Own end-to-end development of on-device camera platform features in **C++** and **Golang**. - Collaborate with product to deliver **scalable, production-ready** solutions aligned with product vision and customer needs. - Partner with streaming, storage, and AI engineering teams to build features optimized for **edge computing environments**. - Lead code reviews, guide debugging, and uphold coding standards for a **high-quality, maintainable codebase**. - Drive and coordinate regular **over-the-air (OTA)** releases, balancing speed with stability and reliability. **What You Bring** - BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - **5+ years** systems software development for performance- and resource-constrained environments. - Proficiency in at least one systems language: **C++** or **Golang**. - **2+ years** building software for **Linux-based platforms**. - Strong understanding of modern operating systems, computer architecture, and trade-offs between **compute, memory, and storage**. - Familiarity with **Bash scripting** and **Python** for tooling and automation. - Excellent communication and documentation; able to collaborate across engineering and product teams. - Must be able to work **onsite five days per week**. **Nice to Have** - Experience developing on-device software for **cloud-connected devices**. - Familiarity with **Linux Kernel development**. **US Employee Benefits (Highlights)** - Healthcare programs (premiums covered for employees under at least one plan; family premiums covered under all plans) - Medical, vision, and dental coverage - HSA + employer contributions; FSA - Expanded mental health support - Paid parental leave and fertility benefits - Flexible PTO, paid holidays, and personal sick time - Professional development stipend - Wellness/fitness benefits; healthy lunches daily - Commuter benefits **Additional Information** - Verkada sponsors and takes over sponsorship of employment visas for this role (if offered). **Pay Disclosure** - **Estimated Hourly Pay Range:** $130,000 — $280,000 USD - **Estimated Annual Pay Range (OTE):** $130,000 — $280,000 USD **Equal Opportunity Employer** Verkada is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants without regard to protected characteristics under applicable law.
