Engineers work across the software platform, solving a wide range of challenging problems, from securing customer funds to building blockchain products, combating fraud, and improving API performance. **The Role: Software Engineering Intern (Winter 2027)** As a member of our software engineering team, you’ll architect and solve complex problems that influence the direction of the digital asset space. There are opportunities for frontend and/or backend work depending on your interests and strengths. *This is a semester-long internship program with 3 days a week in person at our New York City, NY office from January to April 2027.* **Responsibilities** - Drive development of new products and features on the Gemini platform, owning meaningful projects within small, fast-moving teams. - Collaborate with senior engineers on design, testing, and scalability, with mentorship and guidance. - Contribute technical ideas during planning and design discussions. - Review and critique code with a focus on correctness, performance, and security. - Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability through refactoring and continuous improvement. - Support production systems by diagnosing and resolving alerts or bugs. **Qualifications** - Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or Master’s). - Passion for blockchain, digital assets, and Web3. - Solid understanding of core software engineering and coding concepts; eager to learn quickly. - Self-motivated and proactive—take initiative, ask smart questions, and move projects forward. - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively. - Open to feedback and committed to growth. **Pay Rate** The hourly pay rate for this role is **$50/hour** in the State of New York, the State of California, and the State of Washington.
