**Elastic — Senior Director of Product Management, Endpoint Security & XDR** ## About the role Elastic Security is hiring a **Senior Director of Product Management** to lead our **Endpoint Security & XDR** business. This role reports to the **GM of Elastic Security** and partners closely with a senior engineering leader (VP) and the product lead for **SIEM & analytics** to build one cohesive platform. Elastic’s endpoint is where the adversary is met directly—supporting analysts and defenders protecting **hospitals, banks, and government networks**. This role is **distributed by design**. Elastic Defend (built from Endgame and Cmd acquisitions) is recognized for strong independent testing results, and Elastic’s protection artifacts and detection rules are **public** for inspection. ## What you’ll be doing - Drive **business-driven OKRs** for the Endpoint Security & XDR line (revenue contribution, competitive win rate, platform attach, retention, expansion). - Set and communicate **product strategy** with sales leadership, customers, and analysts (market diagnosis, guiding policy, coherent actions). - Own the **agentic detection and response strategy** for endpoint—advancing AI/autonomous capabilities while ensuring customers experience **one agentic platform**. - Shape investment priorities—deciding where to invest and where not to, using **data and customer evidence**. - Own how endpoint and XDR fit the broader **Elastic Security platform story**. - Put customers first: visit customers, participate in deals and win/loss reviews, enable the field, and represent Elastic at events (**regular travel required**). - Partner with engineering as a true **pair**, sharing one set of outcomes. - Lead and develop a team of product managers, connecting their work to customer mission and business outcomes. ## What you bring - Genuine care for the people this product protects; trust built through consistent customer focus. - Business expertise running a product line/business unit in security (revenue, win rates, retention, pricing/packaging, competitive positioning). - Credibility in **endpoint security** (EPP, EDR, XDR) and enough understanding of agent behavior to collaborate effectively with engineers and practitioners. - Strong partnership with go-to-market teams, including enabling sellers and supporting deals. - A habit of deciding with evidence (win/loss data, customer conversations, market signals). - A point of view on how a challenger competes and differentiates against incumbents. - Clear executive communication with executive leadership, CISOs, sales leadership, and industry analysts. ## Bonus points - Experience competing with or working at endpoint-focused security vendors. - Experience helping a security business scale toward **$1B**. - Familiarity with public efficacy testing (e.g., AV-Comparatives, MITRE ATT&CK evaluations) and participating in the open. - Experience serving customers in hard environments (regulated industries, classified networks, air-gapped and OT deployments). - Thoughtful perspective on AI/agentic capabilities at the endpoint (healthy skepticism of silver bullets). - Contributions to open source or the security community. ## Compensation (base salary) - **Typical starting salary range:** **$199,700 — $315,900 USD** - **Select locations (Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, NYC Metro):** **$239,800 — $379,300 USD** ## Additional information Elastic is an equal opportunity employer committed to an i
