**Senior Data Platform Engineer - Enterprise Systems** **About Astranis** Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, expanding humanity's reach into the solar system. With five satellites on orbit and a backlog of over $1 billion in commercial contracts, we're the preferred satellite communications partner for enterprises, governments, and the US military. **The Role** We're scaling satellite production at a record pace and need a Senior Data Platform Engineer to define, architect, and build our core data infrastructure. You'll conduct customer discovery across teams and turn complex requirements into production-ready tools. **What You'll Build** • **Architectural Strategy & Tooling** – Define data architecture, ingestion, storage, and access patterns (Postgres, BigQuery, Snowflake) • **Internal Customer Discovery** – Work with aerospace engineers, technicians, finance, and software teams to gather requirements • **Enterprise Analytics Engine** – Build standardized data pipelines and modeling frameworks (dbt) across telemetry, supply chain, and ERP data • **Unified Logging & Observability** – End-to-end pipelines for structured logs, traces, and hardware telemetry • **Governance & Access Control** – Establish data governance frameworks, RBAC, and schema evolution strategies **Requirements** • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent • 5+ years of software/data engineering experience • Strong Python proficiency and software design fundamentals • Production experience with RBAC, Data Governance, and Schema Evolution • Deep expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL) and analytical warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake) • Experience with modern data orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) **Bonus** • Experience with hardware/PLM/MES/ERP platforms (Altium, Arena, NetSuite) • Aerospace or manufacturing background • API design and cloud infrastructure experience (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP) **Compensation** Base Salary: $145,000 – $210,000 USD Equity, healthcare, 401(k), flexible PTO, and on-site meals included. **Requirements** U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required (space technology export compliance).
