**Engineering Manager — Authorization (San Francisco | Office-centric Hybrid)** The Authorization team builds features at the intersection of product and platform—helping Asana customers have precise control of their Asana data, while enabling other Asana teams to build delightful end-to-end experiences that are still well controlled. The team works across the full R&D lifecycle, from designing data models to implementing subtle interaction behaviors. We’re looking for an empathetic and technically experienced Engineering Manager to lead this team in our San Francisco office. --- ## What you’ll achieve - Manage and enable the growth of talented engineers on the team - Hire talented engineers and help the team scale smoothly - Guide articulation and execution of the team’s future roadmap, ensuring alignment with high-level business goals - Set the team up to own several technically challenging and critical projects - Coach engineers in their technical and professional development - Ensure adoption of foundational investments by sponsoring deep collaboration across other Asana surface areas - Deliver a great, reliable global user experience while enabling rapid development and iteration - Work and learn alongside strong peer managers with a strong sense of team --- ## About you - 4+ years of experience managing a technical team; able to deep dive on technical issues and designs - Excited to partner with Design and Product on both large features and daily, small enhancements - Experience identifying and rolling out high-leverage platform investments that help other teams - Focused on maximizing impact for yourself, your team, and Asana as a whole - Equipped with intelligence, empathy, integrity, and technical chops to earn trust quickly - Comfortable with ambiguity—figuring out what needs to be done and then doing it - Curious about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making *If you don’t meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.* --- ## Location / Hybrid schedule - Based in the **San Francisco office** with an **office-centric hybrid** schedule - Standard in-office days: **Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday** - Option to work from home on **Wednesdays** - Working from home on **Fridays** depends on the type of work and partnering teams --- ## Compensation (estimated) - **Base salary range:** **$264,000 – $300,000** - Actual base salary varies based on market and individual qualifications assessed during the interview process - Additional compensation may include **equity**, and **benefits** (and sales incentive pay for most sales roles) --- ## About Asana Asana is a leading platform for human + AI collaboration.
