**Senior Web Software Engineer, Data Science Prototyping** **The Community You Will Join:** The Data Science team works closely with partners from Design, Product and Engineering across Airbnb's product portfolio. Web prototypers work with Data Scientists to identify key questions during the development of new solutions and build software prototypes that answer them. **The Difference You Will Make:** Partner with the Data Science team to develop prototypes that show the potential of new data models targeting critical business and user problems. Your work will enable leadership to make critical business decisions by demonstrating technical feasibility, suggesting implementation approaches, and enabling user studies. **A Typical Day:** • Co-develop prototypes with Data Scientists, identifying open questions and planning effective ways to showcase results • Choose implementation approaches that balance speed and realism • Build APIs that provide data from backend systems for use in prototypes • Guide data scientists in building their own prototypes **Your Expertise:** • 6+ years of hands-on web development, particularly front-end • Strong understanding of data visualization fundamentals • Expertise with TypeScript/JavaScript/React and visualization frameworks (d3/visx or webgl) • Experience building custom interactions and novel UI components • Strong communication skills and experience working with data scientists/ML engineers • [Bonus] Prior prototyping role experience **Location:** US - Remote Eligible (must live in state where Airbnb has registered entity) **Pay Range:** $196,000 – $227,000 USD Eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
