**Director, Systems Engineering** **Overview** AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a Director of Systems Engineering to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of the organization's infrastructure and platform services. As a technical and people leader, you'll oversee a team of systems engineers responsible for systems architecture, platform engineering, automation, DevOps practices, provisioning, deployment, patch management, and security compliance. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead and develop a team of systems and DevOps engineers with coaching, mentorship, and performance management • Define and execute infrastructure and cloud engineering strategy aligned with IT objectives • Own design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure across Azure Cloud and on-premises environments • Oversee Kubernetes platform architecture, administration, and lifecycle management • Lead DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using Azure DevOps, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and Git workflows • Manage Azure DevOps backlogs, sprint planning, and engineering roadmaps • Ensure platform reliability, performance, scalability, and availability through proactive monitoring • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on security controls and compliance requirements • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience initiatives • Drive automation and self-service capabilities to improve service delivery **Required Qualifications** • 8+ years progressive experience in infrastructure, systems, cloud engineering, or platform operations • 3+ years leading and managing technical teams in enterprise environments • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, Entra ID, security, governance, monitoring) • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates) • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, enterprise storage, and backups • Experience with ITIL/ITSM frameworks • Strong DevOps and Agile methodology background **What We Offer** Competitive compensation, Medical & Dental Plans, Life Insurance, Health Care FSA, Dependent Care, 401k, Paid Time Off, and excellent career advancement opportunities.
