With 150+ employees, 600+ agents, and 2x year-over-year growth, we're backed by top-tier investors including Firstmark, Accomplice, and Revolution Growth. **About the Role** Join our engineering team to build the systems powering Orchard's website and agent tools. We serve 150k+ unique visitors monthly with 700k pageviews. You'll work on backend, frontend, or both—building APIs, data services, and integrations that connect customers with agents. You'll own systems across our stack: public website, intake flows, scheduling, consultation booking, lead management, and compliance tools. Work closely with product, design, and stakeholders in a small, fast-moving team. We leverage AI coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex) daily—the focus is scoping work well, directing AI effectively, and catching errors. **Full-time, NYC-based (in office Tuesdays & Wednesdays). Reports to Senior Software Engineer.** **What You'll Do** • Build and maintain services using Qwik (frontend), Python/Postgres/OpenSearch (backend), React/TypeScript (other services) • Turn product ideas into well-scoped projects • Debug and optimize core services for reliability and scale • Write clean, tested, maintainable code • Improve developer workflows and documentation • Participate in on-call rotations • Use AI coding tools as part of your daily workflow **We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have** • 2+ years software engineering experience • Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, or Go; solid API and data modeling knowledge • Experience with AWS, Postgres, SQL, Kafka, Airflow, Docker, or CircleCI (plus) • Experience directing AI coding tools effectively • Low-ego, problem-solving mindset with ownership mentality • Interest in shipping quickly with real impact **Compensation (NYC)** $130,000–$150,000/year base, plus stock options and benefits.
