We combine startup culture with the resources of a large global public company, fostering bold and ambitious people who drive innovation and make hands-on impact. **Role Overview** The Detection Engineering team within Coupang's Digital Trust organization designs and operates end-to-end security threat detection and response automation systems. As part of the Automation Engineering pillar, you'll design, develop, and operate automated workflows that analyze, investigate, and respond to security threats at scale. This role shapes the future of AI-driven security operations by building technologies that power Coupang's next-generation AI-SOC platform. **What You Will Do** • Design and develop normalization, enrichment, and automated triage workflows for security detection events at scale • Design, develop, and operate SOAR workflows that streamline security operations processes • Build and maintain integrations with security platforms (SIEM, EDR, CTI, ticketing systems, SaaS/API solutions) • Develop LLM-based triage and analysis logic, confidence scoring, and automated response orchestration • Drive operational excellence through incident response, logging, monitoring, and system reliability improvements • Design and implement automated response scenarios based on detection use cases • Analyze and optimize automation workflows for performance and scalability **Basic Qualifications** • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python proficiency • Experience designing security event processing, detection, and response workflows • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and CTI platforms • Experience developing integrations using RESTful APIs, Webhooks, and JSON-based data processing • Cloud systems design and operation experience (preferably AWS) • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipeline experience **Preferred Qualifications** • AI-SOC platform or LLM-powered security automation experience • LLM agent and workflow frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.) • Large-scale SOAR or workflow automation platform operations • Kubernetes and EKS production experience • Custom security automation platform development • SIEM detection logic and security event lifecycle expertise • Log processing pipelines and distributed infrastructure experience • Security operations dashboards and analytics solutions **Compensation** Base pay: $152,000–$169,000/year (based on geographic market and experience) **Benefits** Medical/Dental/Vision/Life insurance • FSA & HSA • Disability coverage • EAP • 401(k) with match • 18-21 PTO days • 12 paid holidays • Paid parental leave
