**Everpure (Pure Storage) — Senior Software Engineer (Engineering Acceleration, Hyperscale Line of Business)** **About the role** The Hyperscale Line of Business at Pure Storage builds and ships exabyte-scale infrastructure with an emphasis on speed, reliability, and operational excellence. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be ~90% hands-on, working at the heart of Engineering Acceleration to build and productize shared tools that help Hyperscale engineering teams move faster and work more effectively. **What you’ll do** **Developer Experience & Tooling (~50% Focus)** - Build shared tools for high-toil engineering workflows (triage, rebase/payload, release), taking them from prototype to supported, documented, and reliable. - Use AI tooling to prototype and iterate rapidly as requirements evolve. - Use engineering metrics to diagnose workflow friction and improve developer velocity across the org. **Design & Reliability (~40% Focus)** - Apply strong design/architecture judgment to keep fast-moving tools maintainable, correct, and safe to rely on. - Write robust software and implement clean interfaces (REST, gRPC, CLI) for tools and services engineers use daily. - Partner with Tech Leads and Managers to shape technical roadmaps for developer tooling. - Mentor junior engineers, participate in deep code reviews, and drive operational excellence (incident response, change management, build observability). - Primarily in-office: expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with company policies (unless on PTO, travel, or other approved leave). **What you bring** - 6+ years of production software engineering experience (calibrated for MTS4/Senior level) in developer productivity, tooling, or platform engineering. - Mastery of Python and C++ in production Linux environments (Go or Java is a plus). - Experience building internal tools/developer-facing software and turning prototypes into supported shared tools, including containerization (Docker) for reproducible environments; comfortable using AI coding tools. - Hands-on experience designing clean interfaces (gRPC, REST, CLI). - Comfort using engineering metrics and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, fb303, scribe, t-digest) to diagnose friction and measure improvement. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. **Compensation & details** - **Annual base salary range:** $180,000 — $270,000 USD - This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity. - No application deadline; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the job is filled. - **#LI-ONSITE** **What you can expect from us** - **Innovation:** Think critically, take on challenges, and aim to be trailblazers. - **Growth:** Support to grow and contribute to meaningful work (Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Technology™, Fortune’s Best Workplaces in the Bay Area™, Great Place to Work®). - **Team:** Build each other up and set aside ego for the greater good. **Perks & accessibility** - Flexible time off, wellness resources, and company-sponsored team events (see: http://purebenefits.com). - Candidates with disabilities may request accommodations for the hiring process (contact: TA-Ops@purestorage.com if invited to interview). **Commitment to inclusion** Everpure is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive team where every voice matters.
