**Senior Software Engineer I — Braze (FIX Team)** Braze is seeking a Senior Engineer to help build high-impact frontend infrastructure and product experiences used across the company. The **Frontend Infrastructure & Experience (FIX)** team owns key platform foundations and important parts of the end-user experience—making it easier for engineers to build polished, accessible, consistent UIs. **What you’ll do** - Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used by engineers across Braze - Lead large projects end-to-end (technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through) - Improve developer experience in a large **TypeScript + React** codebase via better abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples - Build customer-facing product experiences that are polished, accessible, performant, and consistent with Braze standards - Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams to solve cross-cutting frontend problems - Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication **Recent and ongoing work** - Developing the framework used to build marketing message editors - Enabling an in-app AI harness to create, modify, and test messages in drag-and-drop editors - Migrating navigation and routing to a fully React-based system - Extending the design system with semantic tokens and supporting a product rebrand - Building type-safe scaffolding and API tooling for frontend development - Advancing accessibility, localization, and consistency across product experiences **Stack you’ll work with** - TypeScript, React - Cypress, Jest, RSpec - Frontend build, packaging, and code generation tooling - Ruby on Rails **Who you are** - 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical impact - Highly skilled in modern frontend development, especially **TypeScript and React** - Experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure - Strong focus on user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability - Comfortable working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders - Clear communicator and collaborative teammate who helps raise the technical bar **Bonus experience (nice to have)** - Design systems / component libraries - Frontend testing frameworks (Cypress, Jest) - Code generation, linting, codemods, or other developer tooling - Internationalization, localization, or accessibility - Ruby on Rails **Compensation (US)** For candidates based in the United States, the pay range at the start of employment is expected to be **$128,842–$209,368/year**, with expected **OTE $144,000–$234,000/year** (including bonus/commission). Exact offers vary by factors like location and experience.
