**Principal Engineer – Prototype Lead** (System Integration, Verification and Validation) **Location:** Barrow-in-Furness, Full Time Onsite **Salary:** Circa £55,000 --- **About The Role:** Establish SSNA programme requirements for the Prototyping PCS IV&V capability by collaborating with stakeholders and implementing learnings from other submarine programmes to enable PCS Prototyping infrastructure for SSN AUKUS. **Core Responsibilities:** • Lead Platform Complex Systems IV&V Prototype Project and establish IV&V requirements • Identify capability, toolsets and methods required for Prototyping delivery • Manage procurement of IV&V toolsets and Rig capabilities (Model in the Loop, Hardware in the Loop) • Establish IV&V conduct procedures and evidence production methods • Execute Prototype Make/Buy decisions • Manage development and integration of Plant Models **Essential Requirements:** • BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in engineering or systems engineering • Expertise in Functional Modelling toolsets (e.g., MATLAB Simulink) • Knowledge of Systems Engineering IV&V processes in defence/maritime industry • Understanding of full engineering lifecycle (requirements through validation) • Experience establishing infrastructure for large projects **What We Offer:** • Relocation support packages available • Lifelong learning and development opportunities • Inclusive, supportive workplace culture • Competitive rewards and wellbeing support **Important:** Many roles subject to security and export control restrictions.
