**Software Engineer I, Network — Crusoe** Crusoe is building AI infrastructure to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence—owning and operating each layer of the stack to power the world’s most ambitious AI workloads. ## About This Role The Cloud Network team is looking for a **Software Engineer I** to help build and operate **cloud network infrastructure**. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow in **distributed systems** and **network engineering**, contributing to **high-performance, scalable, and reliable** network solutions. ## What You’ll Be Working On - **Contribute to engineering efforts:** Implement well-scoped pieces of larger projects defined by product and engineering leads. - **Software development:** Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers; contribute to design documentation; participate in testing and rollout from **bare metal to user-facing APIs**. - **Technical contribution:** Participate in code reviews and architecture/design discussions. - **Continuous learning:** Grow through mentorship, pairing, and collaboration; ask questions and seek feedback. - **Cross-team collaboration:** Join initiatives like tech talks, open source exploration, and book clubs. ## What You’ll Bring to the Team - **Foundational technical skills:** ~1 year of professional work (or internships/school projects) building or operating software systems; cloud/distributed systems exposure is a plus. - **Software engineering fundamentals:** Coding standards, code reviews, source control (e.g., Git), testing, and basic CI/CD/build processes. - **Technical proficiency:** Working knowledge of at least one language such as **Java** or **Go**; basic **Linux** fundamentals and computer architecture concepts (willingness to deepen on the job). - **Communication & collaboration:** Comfortable asking questions and working closely with senior engineers. - **Growth mindset:** Strong desire to learn network systems and distributed computing; proven ability to pick up new skills quickly. ## Bonus Points - Network technologies / distributed systems coursework, personal projects, or internship experience - Exposure to networking protocols/technologies such as **BGP, VXLAN, TCP/IP, Open vSwitch (OVS)** - Open source contributions - Basic understanding of networking concepts (physical or software-defined) - **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) ## Benefits - Competitive compensation and equity (RSUs) - Paid time off and holidays - Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance - HSA contributions - Paid parental leave - Professional development & tuition reimbursement - Mental health & wellness support - 401(k) match up to 4% - Plus additional location-specific perks ## Compensation Range Up to **$117,000 – $138,000 + Bonus** (RSUs included in all offers).
