**Member of the Technical Staff - Data Platform** **About Vercel** Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, shaping how the web is built. As the team behind Next.js, v0, and AI SDK, we create products trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide. **About the Role** Lead the design and development of a next-generation Data Platform at Vercel. You'll architect foundational systems powering data across products and business, from real-time analytics to AI/ML initiatives. Report directly to the Senior Director of Data Engineering. **Key Responsibilities** • Design and implement scalable data platforms supporting batch/real-time integrations, advanced analytics, and multiple data types using Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake • Architect solutions across engineering, product, and leadership teams to align technical strategy with business goals • Define data governance guidelines for ingestion, enrichment, storage, and ETL processes • Develop end-to-end solutions and mentor engineering teams • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal on data protection standards • Drive architectural decisions and roadmap planning for efficiency and scalability • Collaborate with data scientists and ML teams on advanced analytics infrastructure • Evaluate build-vs-buy trade-offs and select critical data technologies **About You** • 8+ years in data engineering/architecture; 5+ years at Principal Engineer level • Proven experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure at scale • Expertise with Kafka ecosystem, ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and big data frameworks • Proficiency in AWS, GCP, or Azure • Strong data governance and security background • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills • Leadership experience mentoring teams and driving best practices • Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering preferred • Industry recognition or open-source contributions a plus **Compensation** San Francisco base pay: $232,000 - $348,000 (adjusted by location).
