## Senior Systems Administrator **Location:** Battle Creek, MI **Schedule:** Full Time **Experience:** Experienced **Security Clearance:** Tier 5 investigation and **Secret** clearance required **Certifications (DoD 8570/8140):** **IAT II or IAT III** ### Position Summary Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a **Senior Systems Administrator** to ensure the stable, secure, and efficient operation of enterprise software systems, network connections, information-management systems, servers, and applications. This is an **onsite** role and part of a **proposal effort**. You will plan, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize network software and communications links across multiple locations. You’ll resolve complex application and connectivity issues, lead day-to-day system administration, and recommend improvements to capacity, performance, reliability, security, and alignment with business goals. ### Key Responsibilities - Hands-on **Windows Server** engineering and administration (Active Directory, server builds, monitoring, file services, migrations, patching) - **Group Policy** administration, **hardening**, **PKI**, and **automation** - **Security incident response** and vulnerability management (identify, assess, prioritize, remediate, validate, and report) - Plan, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize enterprise server platforms, network software, applications, and communication links - Organize and direct configuration/operation/sustainment of information-management systems - Provide local and remote maintenance support across multiple locations (maintenance, upgrades, new server installations, application deployments) - Analyze and resolve end-user software, system performance, access, application, and network connectivity issues - Conduct capacity/availability/performance analyses and recommend configuration changes, upgrades, resource adjustments, and technology refresh actions - Automate recurring administration tasks using approved tools and scripts - Develop and maintain administration procedures, operating guides, configuration documentation, and troubleshooting runbooks - Conduct system-administrator training, skills assessments, knowledge transfer, and end-user training - Direct and coordinate other system administrators supporting daily operations and issue resolution - Apply advanced knowledge of application networking, load balancing, high availability, redundancy, and fault tolerance - Monitor system health/security/utilization/reliability; investigate incidents; perform root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions - Recommend technology direction, system architecture, modernization priorities, and infrastructure improvements ### Required Qualifications - **10 years** of specialized experience in information processing across multiple hardware/software disciplines and a broad range of enterprise technology solutions - **At least 4 years** of concentrated, hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining (additional details not included in the provided text)
