With 43+ million members and a growing global partner network, CLEAR's secure identity platform transforms how people live, work, and travel. **The Role** We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to establish our Observability framework and foundations. You'll accelerate building and scaling innovative systems supporting our growing identity platform, driving observability best practices and leading reliability initiatives. **What You'll Do** • Embed within the Engineering pillar to implement observability across key flows • Facilitate and build load testing cases to understand service limits and scaling factors • Contribute to observability design for new services and systems • Build and lead game days, chaos engineering, and failure analysis practices • Develop long-term capacity plans balancing reliability and cost-efficiency **Who You Are** • 6+ years writing production-grade software in modern languages (Java, Python, etc.) • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and distributed tracing • Experience with modern observability systems (e.g., Datadog) • Proficiency with performance debugging tools and flame graphs • Product and user-centric mindset with drive to continuously improve systems • History of owning complex, cross-functional projects from idea to production • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders • Comfortable in ambiguous environments with collaborative, mentoring mindset **Compensation & Benefits** $225,000 - $300,000 (base, bonus, and equity) Comprehensive healthcare, family-building benefits, flexible time off, wellness stipend, OneMedical membership, CLEAR Plus membership, and 401(k) with employer match. **Hiring Process** Recruiter Call → Technical Screen → Onsite Panel → Manager Conversations → Offer (typically 3 weeks)
