Grafana Labs is **100% remote**, with team members across **40+ countries**. --- ## The Opportunity ### Grafana Frontend The Grafana Frontend group owns the **end-to-end user experience** for Grafana (and the platform used to build plugins). Squads cover areas like **dashboards**, **data visualization**, **navigation**, **sharing**, **content search**, and more. ### Squad: DataViz You’ll help build and evolve **Grafana Visualizations**, making it easy for users to set up, understand, and extract insights from their data. **Recent projects include:** - **Externalization** of core visualization for independent releases and fewer interdependencies - **GraphViz panel**: visualize relationships/flows/architectures using **Graphviz DOT** with live metrics - **Quality & reliability improvements**: better test coverage, new testing strategy, and visual regression tooling - **Refresh visualizations** (e.g., **Table**, **Gauge**) **Tech stack:** primarily **TypeScript**, **React**, **uPlot**, and **eCharts**. --- ## What you’ll be doing - Lead **multi-quarter technical initiatives** from problem framing through rollout (including user feedback and measuring impact) - Mentor and collaborate with engineers; raise the bar via **code review**, design feedback, pairing, and high-quality engineering - Participate in **on-call** for services you help build; drive incident response and post-incident learning - Provide technical support in **customer escalations** and identify friction areas - Cross-squad collaboration: represent the team, write design proposals, run demos, and advocate for the roadmap --- ## Developer productivity & AI Grafana invests heavily in developer productivity and encourages **pragmatic AI-assisted development** (within security guidelines), including faster prototyping, test generation, refactors, documentation, and incident follow-ups—paired with strong code review and quality standards. --- ## What makes you a great fit - **Intellectually curious**, **transparent**, **bias toward action**, and **kind team player** - **Technical leadership**: experience leading projects, mentoring, and communicating clearly in a remote/asynchronous environment - **Operational responsibility**: experience with on-call, production support, reliability, and incident response - Enjoys **complex solutions** and can tackle hard problems with minimal supervision - **User focus & pragmatism**: short feedback loops (analyze → design → MVP → learn → iterate) - **Practical AI mindset**: familiar with AI tech/frameworks and focused on real-world outcomes - Cares about the **community** and is interested in being an active **Grafana Community Contributor** ### Bonus points - Open-source contribution/maintainership - Interest/experience in **observability** (Metrics/Logs/Traces) and tools like Grafana/Prometheus - Prior on-call experience with Grafana/Prometheus/Loki/Tempo (or homelab) - Experience in fully remote, globally distributed teams --- ## Compensation US compensation range: **$174,986 – $209,983 USD** (varies by level, experience, and skillset).
