**Sr. Director, Enterprise Data** **About the Role** Elastic is seeking a visionary Senior Director of Enterprise Data to lead the transformation of our data ecosystem. Reporting to the CIO, you'll own end-to-end data strategy, evolve our data platform architecture, scale Master Data Management (MDM) systems, and institutionalize federated data governance. Transform data into a high-octane product powering real-time decision-making and operational efficiency across the global enterprise. **Key Responsibilities** **Data Strategy & Platform Evolution** • Design and execute a scalable data platform roadmap for a multi-billion dollar enterprise • Transition centralized pipelines into modern, decoupled data architecture • Implement "Data as a Product" mindset with strict SLOs and high discoverability • Drive evolution from batch to real-time event streaming for critical business domains **Enterprise Master Data Management** • Evolve cross-referenced registry into integrated, multi-domain operational MDM hub • Ensure mastered data flows bidirectionally between analytics and operational systems • Standardize ingestion frameworks for M&A readiness **Data Governance, Quality & Compliance** • Establish enterprise-wide data governance council with collaborative stewardship model • Implement automated data lineage, cataloging, and quality testing tools • Ensure platform adheres to global regulatory frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, SOX) **Team Leadership** • Scale high-performing data team (engineers, MDM specialists, architects, governance managers) • Champion hub-and-spoke operating model with embedded analytics • Instill software engineering rigor into data workflows **What You Bring** • 12+ years progressive leadership in data engineering/architecture at $1B-$5B+ B2B scale • Deep expertise with modern cloud data stacks (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, AWS/Azure) • Familiarity with enterprise MDM platforms (Informatica, Reltio, Semarchy, Profisee) • Proven success leading complex data migrations and MDM implementations • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value for C-suite • 5+ years managing manager-level and architect-level direct reports **Bonus Points** • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments with M&A activity • Data Mesh or federated data architecture expertise • AI/ML infrastructure integration knowledge **Compensation** Base salary range: $212,100–$335,600 USD (select locations: $254,900–$403,200 USD) Eligible for stock program, 401k matching (up to 6%), and comprehensive benefits. **Why Join Elastic** Competitive pay, health coverage, flexible work arrangements, generous PTO, volunteer time (40 hrs/year), parental leave (16+ weeks), and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
