**Director of Product, Machine Learning & Decisioning Platforms** **About the Role** Lead product strategy and team for Upstart's credit decisioning and machine learning platforms. This is a highly technical, platform-focused product leadership role at the core of Upstart's business. **Key Responsibilities** • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers • Define product strategy and roadmap for credit decisioning and ML capabilities • Partner with engineering and ML leaders on model development, deployment, and experimentation • Evolve underwriting and decisioning systems • Identify ML opportunities, validate through MVPs, and scale successful products • Create processes for evaluating and integrating data vendors and ML capabilities • Balance near-term execution with long-term platform investment • Build cross-team alignment on ML integration **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience • 8+ years product management experience, including technical/platform products • Experience managing and developing product managers across multiple teams • Strong technical fluency partnering with engineering, ML, and data science teams • Ability to set strategy, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Experience connecting technical decisions to business outcomes in credit/lending/fintech • Track record building strong teams and raising PM quality **Preferred Qualifications** • Background as data scientist, ML engineer, or ML individual contributor • Experience with model lifecycle management, decisioning systems, experimentation, or inference platforms • Experience building/scaling online financial products in consumer lending or credit **Location & Travel** Remote (US/Canada) | East/West coast time zones | Regular team onsites (1-2x quarterly, 2-4 days) **Compensation** US Remote: $216,100 – $299,000 USD Canada Remote: $212,500 – $270,000 CAD Includes bonus, equity, 401(k) match, comprehensive health coverage, paid time off, and more.
