Backed by top investors, we’re forming a world-class team to build the web for AIs. ## The Role Build and operate the security foundations that protect Parallel’s production infrastructure, internal systems, and access for people, services, and agents. You’ll own and improve how: - **People, services, and agents authenticate** - **Access is controlled** (what they can reach) - **Production is hardened** - **Security controls are enforced** from **source code through running workloads** You’ll work across: - Identity & access - Cloud & Kubernetes security - Software supply chain integrity - Logging, detection, and monitoring infrastructure - Endpoint security - Recovery and resilience You’ll also design **secure defaults** engineers can inherit, and build systems that make access, changes, and recovery **measurable and auditable**. Additionally, you’ll help define how **AI coding agents** operate inside Parallel’s infrastructure—what they can access, what privileges they receive, and how their actions are constrained and logged. ## About You - Deep intuition for **cloud infrastructure, identity, network security, and production systems** - Strong judgment on which controls **materially reduce risk** vs. those that mostly add process - You **write and ship code**, prefer **automation** over manual controls, and can collaborate across security, platform engineering, and reliability - You can land changes across teams you don’t manage and build durable security foundations ## You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have - Significant experience building/operating infrastructure or security systems in **production cloud environments** - Deep experience in at least one of: - Identity & authorization - Cloud & Kubernetes security - Logging & detection platforms - Strong fundamentals in **cloud, network, secrets management, and workload isolation** - Experience building **secure deployment pipelines**, including: - Artifact provenance - Immutability - Secret scanning - Software supply chain controls - Experience designing **centralized logging, alerting, and detection** across cloud, SaaS, identity, and endpoints - Strong production coding/automation skills (e.g., **Terraform, Python, Go**) - A track record of shipping security controls across an engineering organization, including tradeoffs to drive adoption - Plus: - Endpoint security, device trust, recovery planning - SOC 2, customer audits, or contractual security requirements - Experience securing AI/agentic systems ## Life at Parallel - Fully in-person team between **Palo Alto HQ** and **San Francisco** - Flat, talent-dense organization focused on solving big technical problems **Values** - Own customer impact - Obsess over craft - Accelerate change - Create win-wins - Make high-conviction bets ## Compensation & Benefits - Competitive salary - Generous equity - Visa sponsorships - 401K plans - Daily lunch & office snacks - Dinner at the office - Unlimited vacation - Caltrain pass reimbursement
